Longman & Van Grack Welcomes Tax and Estate Attorney Sat Nam Khalsa as Of Counsel

The Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland law firm of Longman & Van Grack is proud to announce a new addition to its tax law and estate planning practice. Tax and estate planning attorney Sat Nam Khalsa joins the firm as Of Counsel.

Sat Nam, who is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Washington, DC, has practiced in the areas of tax and business law, estate planning and probate, and non-adversarial family law at a large Washington, DC law firm before joining Longman & Van Grack. In his tax practice, Sat Nam regularly represents individuals and organizations seeking to resolve tax controversies with the IRS and state and local tax authorities. Sat Nam also represents clients litigating tax disputes in Federal and State courts.

Additionally, Sat Nam provides tax and outside general counsel services to small and medium-sized businesses and tax-exempt organizations. Sat Nam’s work for business clients includes advice related to entity formation, contracts, worker classification, corporate policies and governance, and entity restructurings. His work for nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations includes entity formation, applications for Federal tax-exempt status, and ongoing compliance with the complex tax rules that govern Federal tax-exempt entities. Sat Nam also helps clients navigate state law rules governing nonprofit corporations.

As a complement to his tax practice, Sat Nam also helps clients with estate planning and the probate process. Whether or not significant tax planning is part of his clients’ estate plans, Sat Nam has the skill and knowledge to help design an estate plan that serves the client’s needs and enables his clients’ goals to manifest as intended.
