In the recreation law article, Canoe & Kayak Magazine specifically quotes the legal advice of Longman & Van Grack attorney Adam Van Grack evaluating the laws of the State of Maryland and National Park Service (NPS) regarding the ability of the NPS to ban kayakers and canoeists from paddling the Potomac River. The article, relying on the legal advice from Adam Van Grack, ultimately concludes that the NPS cannot penalize or arrest an individual kayaker or canoeist from paddling on the flooded Potomac River.
